Dear Mrs. Plumer, I was so sorry to read about the loss of your husband. My deepest condolences to you and your family, on my behalf, as well as that of my mother, Virginia Chandler, who enjoyed your friendship for so many years. She always spoke so highly of you and Mr. Plumer. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family.

So sorry to hear of Jack's death. I think Jack was in Sumter when I was hired by IBM in 1956. Jack was one of the finest men I have ever known. I called him after hours many times for assistance on something I was working on He was always willing to help me particularly when I was working on a machine on which I had not been trained. We could call specialists in NY, but I would rather call Jack. He was a good engineer and person. My condolence to Peggy and all his family.

Jack will certainly be missed. He was a very close friend to my dad, Tommy Grimes. Jack and my dad were definitely from the old IBM. Mother and I will keep Jack's family in our thoughts and prayers.

Jack was one of the smartest engineers that I ever had the privilege of working with while at IBM and as a customer. I'll never forget the time he was installing our mainframe computer and he said he had to leave for school that night. I asked what he was going to school to learn and he told me he was going to learn how to install our computer. He was always ahead of the curve, so to speak.

Snookie and I have vivid pleasant memories of Jack and Peggy Plumer during our days working together in the Charleston, SC sub office of IBM. That was a few years ago; 1959 - 1962. Jack Plumer is the type fellow one simply never forgets. His pleasant even tempered personality peppered with dry levity is among our most pleasant memories. We also enjoyed Jack's lovely red haired life companion, Peggy. The picture in Snookie's and my mind is the two them

Jack was one of the best friends that I have ever known. He also Jump started my career with IBM. He took me under his wing and taught me how to diagnose and fix problems. He was my hero. When I retired he told me that he could not believe an IBM without me in it. I cannot believe a world without Jack Pllumer in it.
