Bill was like a father to me. A kind gentleman who could quote an appropriate stanza from any poem, he seemed to have memorized so many good ones. I admired his love of nature; the Turtle Patrol, his talks, his wit, and his patience. I know that Lynne adored her father, too. Bill will be missed and mourned by many.

Dear Ann,

We were sorry to hear of Bill's passing. We will always remember him as a good friend, a super teacher, and one of the true remaining "elders" who worked to keep Kiawah close to its beautiful semi-primeval state.

Our prayers and good wishes to you and the family during these trying times.
