I am very sad to learn of James' recent passing. We were friends at Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner many years ago. I was a year ahead of him in high school. I would see him from time to time over the years after we graduated and always enjoyed catching up with him and hearing about his family. I remember James as being smart and very proud of the work he was doing in promoting Berkeley County. He definitely

Jim was a hardworking advocate for the Lowcountry and served Berkeley County with distinction. He will be greatly missed.

Kathy, I can't tell you how much I respected and admired Jim. He was such a good friend. He was one of the best communicators I've ever met. He could bring an angry crowd together in seconds with his wit and charm.

He also really loved his Tigers! I was lucky enough to spend some time with you and Jim in Tampa when we beat Alabama for the National Title. I will never forget all the photos and texts we

The Charleston region has lost an iconic advocate for growing the industrial base of the region. I had the pleasure of serving with Jim while he was involved in the initial stages of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance. Nobody was better at building consensus and selling the positive aspects of the region than Jim. My deepest sympathy to the family in your time of bereavement.

Sincerely,
John

We will always remember the two trips via Amtrak to the Orange Bowl @ Miami Gardens, Fla. What great trips to see"our Tiger" play and win! Jim was always upbeat and a pleasure to be around. WE will miss him greatly!

Kathy and family,

We were saddened to hear of Jim's passing. You all have been a blessing to our family and to many others for decades. Jim was bigger than life and left his positive mark in innumerable places. He was an icon and an incredible representative of "All things good" in many ways, from the Strawberry Community, to all of Berkeley County and the Tri-county area, to state levels and beyond. He was a fantastic example of our country's "Greatest

Fran and I will certainly miss Jim at the Clemson games. He and Kathy sat with us for over 40 years. He was a barrel of fun with my kids. he always had his yellow penalty flag he would wave when the refs missed a call. He and Kathy were always a joy to be around and he will be missed by my family very much. God bless you Kathy and you and your family are in our prayers...
