Paul Robert Hadley III Obituary

Paul was one of the sharpest people I ever met and worked with while at the 'clam farm' and Marine Resources, with a wit second to none. He could conceive, design and build just about anything he set his mind to, and could make what had already been built work better. Paul was one of the sharpest people I ever met and worked with while at the 'clam farm' and Marine Resources, with a wit second to none. He could conceive, design and build just about anything he set his mind to, and could make what had already been built work better. What I learned about him in reading his obituary, however, is what I wish I had learned about and from him while still with us in this life. He was a man of faith who put it and his talents into action, to produce practical results for those less fortunate than us. Glad to have known you at all, Paul -- but I confess I wish I'd known you better. Nancy, my deepest sympathy to you and all your loved ones.

I felt so connected to Paul because of his history with Churchill Weavers and Berea College. Our daughter, Alice Driver, went to Berea and when living in KY we learned so much about the history there including the looms. Paul recalled crawling under the looms as a child. It was a pleasure to sit on the porch of their house and share the weaving history we had in common, as I am a weaver who loves to learn about history

I am sad he is gone, i know he was a wonderful partner to Nancy and enriched her life. My thoughts are with her and those who knew and loved Paul.

Several years ago while a member of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, I took over the coordination of our Habitat from Humanity build team from Paul, who had done the coordination for many years. Although I had the "coordinator" role, Paul continued to show up every week for the homes we built and pretty much knew as much about building the homes as did the skilled Habitat foremen who guided all of us unskilled workers. He'd guide us through building questions

He'd guide us through building questions and didn't laugh when we'd use 100 nails where 30 would be needed. He was a joy to be around, an inspirational presence, and will be greatly missed.

Paul was a part of our family and will always remain so. No one could surpass Paul's telling of stories, usually self-deprecating. He would leave tears of laughter and joy. Now those tears fall for other reasons, some of them blatantly selfish. He's somewhere else, possibly sharing some more stories with other loved ones who left us far too soon. I envy them.

No words appropriate how my grandmother, Nancy, must feel after losing a lifelong companion and best friend. I am sad and heartsick over this loss. My grandfather was a fine man and a good person. You all have my deepest sympathy. I hope that your strong and abiding faith will see you through this sad time.

So sorry to hear of your passing and thankful you have found peace. You made a difference in many lives and in this world. You have been very important to many people that have been important to me. Thank you for keeping great company and sharing. Soar high and rejoice.

Paul was a wonderful person and will be missed! I remember eating lunch with him at the College of Charleston, sitting outside in the sun, and talking about everything. He often had funny insights and I always enjoyed those lunches.

I am so sorry to hear of Paul's death. My condolences to Nancy and his family.

Rest in Peace, Uncle Paul. Thank you for being a loving and loveable part of my childhood. *hug*
