Sara, I was saddened to learn of Ed's passing. As you know, he and I spent many hours working together on his medical projects. In the process, we became good personal friends. I have missed seeing you and Ed since you moved to the coast. If you have an occasion to visit Charlotte in the future, Peggy and I would love to see you.
Our thoughts are with you.

Ed was such a wonderful, warm, and generous friend and classmate. It was truly a distinct honor and pleasure knowing him all these many years. Sara, please know there are so many of his Citadel classmates by your side. We will always be faithful to you and Ed's memory. Our love and prayers are with you and your family.

Ed was a true Southern gentleman. He possessed a kind and gentle demeanor. He was dedicated to his family. We enjoyed getting together to watch away Citadel football games as well as sharing adjacent seats at home games. As his health deteriorated, he did not raise it as an issue. He always had kind comments to make to others. Ed lived as a proud and dedicated Citadel graduate and former Army officer. We are honored to be friends of Ed and Sara.

Dearest Sara,
Troy and I are so sorry for your loss, but find solace in knowing that Ed is in heaven pain free with our Lord.
The Redeemer lives. No matter the present darkness, there is light ahead. We will savor God's goodness far longer and far deeper than any downpour can soak us.

I love you and, more over, God loves you. Blessings. Jan & Jerry

Ed and Sara were a couple that I never had enough time with or saw often enough.
What a magnificent, generous, kind, and loving man! This world would be such a better place if there were more men like him.
