Charles was ever unafraid to tackle any project however daunting.
Persistence.
He was a MAN.

Anne and Family, I am so sorry about Charles death. I did not know he was
so ill. I have such wonderful memories of the years in St. Matthews
with his family and your family at First Baptist Church and watching you
children all grow up. I have lived in Manning for fifty years now, but I will
never forget my wonderful friends in St. Matthews and those who have
moved away. I remember your strong Christian faith and know that our
God will see you through this time of sorrow. My thoughts and prayers are
with you and all your family. Much Love, Katherine

Charles was one of those rare people who lived humbly and loved serving others. He surely followed in the footsteps of his parents ,Connor and Jenelle. Those who lose their life will gain it Luke 9:24

Anne, We have missed the presence of the Smoak and Crook families in our community for many years . We did not know of Charles' illness until just a week or two ago and was sorry to learn that he passed away this week. May you and your family be blanketed with peace and strength that comes from God, and live with joy and assurance that you will be reunited again. The treasured memories that you hold in your hearts will keep him near to you forever.

Charles was one of the finest man and the finest person that I ever had the pleasure of getting to know. His impact on the world around was nothing less than great. It broke my heart that such a fine and influential person first had some physical problems but it really upset me to hear of his passing. Charles truly cared about his fellow man and set an awesome example for the rest of us to try to follow. Charles, you were my hero and a person that I would like emulate. May you have eternal peace and may your family and your wife relish the time that they had with such an outstanding person. Finally, may Anne and the rest of your family have great memories and peace, having been close to Charles so many years. God bless you and keep you. Well done good and faithful servant.
