Betty and Katie, We were shocked and saddened to see that Will recently died. We did not know he had been sick. Although I did not know Will very well, I loved his quiet and kind spirit that was always prominent. I am so sorry for all who loved him. So painful to lose a child and a brother. I am so glad he lived to see Biden win. Maybe that brought a glimmer of a smile near the end of his beautiful and too brief life. We will be thinking of you and the grief you will be experiencing in the months ahead and hoping you find some moments of peace. John and Diane Ellis

Oh, how I loved Will. Everyone loved Will. He lit up every room he ever walked into, and he made our lives so much more rich and colorful. I've not stopped thinking about him since I heard the news that he was gone. He had a way of always lifting others up, and he filled our lives with a lot of laughter. I remember how much we would cackle in our (Kappa Delta) chapter meetings because he would write us weekly correspondence on behalf of the Kappa Alpha Order, and it was always humorous. He'd have us in fits. He was always the person you wanted to sit next to and have a little chat. I just adored him. Even though we have had many miles between us since college, I enjoyed keeping up with him. I will miss his spirit so much. I can't wait to see him again one day.

We were so sorry to hear about Will. He was such a kind young man, talented, friendly, and generous. One of our favorite people from our days in Batesville. Betty and Katie, we hope you feel the support and love of so many people who loved and admired Will.

I would like to offer my sympathy. I do not know Will, but also lost a son. I was especially touched by the words do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God. I just wanted to tell you of the far reaching value of your son and husband's life. I am blessed by reading about him. Thank you.

May you Rest In Peace, Sweet Will. You have left a huge hole in the hearts of all that loved you, especially your precious mother. Reading your obituary, I was amazed at all you had accomplished in your lifetime. May you be wrapped in the loving arms of our Lord. Until we meet again. God bless you and your loving family

Betty, your son was a friend in the truest sense. Will is someone I came to know because of my college boyfriend who attended Millsaps. My friendship with Will outlasted the former, but I'll never forget how Will helped me arrange a surprise visit, picked me up from the airport, and always spent a lot of time with me when I was in Jackson. We also lived in New Orleans for a time together and our paths crossed again. He was always so good about keeping up over the phone over the now 19 years I've known him. I hate that I let so much time pass during the pandemic without speaking to him. I hope you will see many of these messages and know how well loved he was because of how deeply he loved his friends.
