Tribute & Message From The Family
Mrs. Fe P. Alvarez, 81, passed away in her home on July 4, 2021.
Fe was born on March 8, 1940 in Sibalom, Antique, Philippines. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Leonarda and Victor Pagaduan. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Nursing, she met her husband in Marawi City. She traveled to America in 1973 to provide a better opportunity for her family.
She worked at MUSC as an OB nurse for almost 30 years and enjoyed helping new mothers care for their babies.
She enjoyed her retirement by going out to dinner with friends, taking day trips to Savannah, and attending conferences across the United States. She was an active member in her community and could be found volunteering or taking care of others. She also looked forward to beach vacations with her family and loved to FaceTime with her great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Fulgencio/Paul; her daughter and son-in-law, Ana Fe and Inocencio Alvar III; son, Paul; grandchildren, Jose and Magdalene DeGuzman and Alexander and Rochelle Alvar; great-grandchildren, Olivia DeGuzman and Ajax Alvar; along with many other friends and relatives in the Philippines and around the US.
Fe was a light and ray of positivity to everyone around her. Her strength and resilience was evident and her faith in the Lord was strong. She will be deeply missed.
Condolence & Memory Journal
I had the good fortune to learn from Fe as a student and graduate nurse and to work with her on 8W at MUSC from 1980-1982. Fe was such a compassionate and competent nurse. She was kind and gentle to her patients and coworkers. No matter how busy the unit was, she was calm and soft-spoken. Fe was a dedicated and hard worker and took her responsibilities as Charge Nurse seriously.
Fe was also generous and thoughtful. On returning from a visit to the Philippines, she gave me a beautiful piece of fabric.
Fe had a beautiful smile and it was always seen when she was speaking of her husband and children.
To all her loved ones family and friends I hope that you will always treasure and take comfort in your memories of Fe. Sending you strength and prayers. With my deepest sympathy, Lisa Collis Cohen
