Tribute & Message From The Family

Geraldine Patricia Cranford Peterman, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of the late Lester Howard "Doc" Peterman, entered into eternal rest, on Friday, April 1, 2022. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Avenue at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel.

Pat was born November 7, 1930 in Calvert County, Maryland, daughter of the late John Cranford and the late Mary Virginia Rotan Cranford. She was a proud Navy wife for twenty years before she joined her husband as the owner-operators of Doc's Rentals, Tri County Rentals, and Summerville Rental Center. After their retirement, they built a home on Doc's family homestead in Hilham, Tennessee, where they spent many years enjoying time with nearby family and friends. Returning to Charleston, Pat was a resident of Ashley Park Apartments and enjoyed her friends, reading, crossword puzzles, and visiting with family.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Peterman DuPuis (Scot DuPuis) of Charleston; son, Stephen Randall Peterman (Colleen) of Naples, Florida; two sisters, Virginia Robinson of Kerrville, Texas, and Ethel Gammon of Rockville, Maryland; grandchildren, Andrew Scot DuPuis of Charleston, Peter Evan DuPuis (Leigh Dekle) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ashley Cathey (Xavier) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Kayleigh Peterman of Corvallis, Oregon; and great-grandchildren, Luna Cathey, Autumn Cathey, and Theo DuPuis. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Michael Howard Peterman.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
