Beaty Erwyn Ammons, 82, of Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, husband to Dorothy Elizabeth Ammons, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 2, 2022. His funeral service will be held Friday, January 7, 2022, in J. Henry Stuhr Funeral, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd at 2 pm. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel, Friday from Noon until 1:30 pm. Interment at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd.

Erwyn was born August 23, 1939, in Prospect, South Carolina, son of Beaty DeLeon Ammons and Emily Humphries Ammons. He attended The Citadel and graduated from Baptist College. Erwyn retired as a Nuclear Engineer from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Following civil service retirement, Erwyn became an ordained minister for SC Pentecostal Holiness Church and pastored two churches.

Erwyn is survived by wife of 61 years, Dorothy Elizabeth Hayes Ammons of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Elizabeth Ammons Murray (Mikell); son, Stephen Ammons (Araby); three sisters, Carolyn Ammons, Debbie Hanna, Paula Alford; brother, Phil Ammons; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Murray Burley (David), Ben Murray (Emily), Josh Murray, Jacob Ammons, Grayson Ammons; two great-grandchildren, Charlie Burley, and Hunter Burley. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Billy, and David Ammons.
