Carl Mizzell, 96, passed into heaven on September 29th, 2018 of cancer related complications. He went peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his home of 32 years in Yonges Island, SC where he faithfully tended his family and garden. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Christ-St. Paul's Cemetery, 5034 Chapel Road, Yonges Island.

Carl Mizzell was a veteran of World War II, and was a Private First Class in the Army Corps of Engineers, a 1941 graduate of Berkeley County High School, and a 1977 retiree of the Charleston Naval Ship Yard. He will be welcomed in heaven by his wife of 35 years Janada Mizzell, his father and mother David & Vernell, and his brothers Coleman and Charles. He has left an enduring mark on the world and the family he leaves behind.

His children Carla Higgins, husband Robert; Chris Mizzell, wife Michele; Conrad Mizzell; Linda Baldwin, husband Jay; and Judy Johnson, husband Jay. His brothers Clarey Mizzell, wife Joyce; and Clyde Mizzell, wife Jan.

Eight grandchildren, Erica Larsh, husband Curt; Bryan Johnson, wife Eralyn; Jessica Curry, husband Scott; Conrad Mizzell; Elizabeth Taylor, husband Dustin; Abby Scales, husband Eric; Chris Mizzell, wife Ruth; Chase Mizzell, wife Jenn.

Nine great-grandchildren Alex, Rebekah and Caleb Larsh; Bella Johnson; Cameron, Caden, and Charlotte Curry; Elaina Taylor; and Calvin Mizzell.
He will be remembered as a steadfast brother and friend, a hard-working and thoughtful parent, and a kind and patient Granddaddy and Great Granddaddy.
