Cynthia was born in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Saul Katz and Dorothea Cronin Katz. After graduating from Winthrop University, Cynthia taught elementary school in Berkeley County. She retired from the school district after 25 dedicated years of teaching.

In her retirement, Cynthia volunteered at Meals on Wheels in Mount Pleasant. Cynthia was delighted to receive the Volunteer of The Year Award through her work with Meals on Wheels. She treasured her memories of her time there and the many friends she made.

The weekends were all about sports. She loved them all, from watching the Gamecocks, ACC basketball, and the Boston Red Sox. Cynthia was the life of the party. She was the friend we could all count on. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by Kathy and Alexis, and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Saul and Dorothea Katz; brother, Stephen Edward Katz; sister, Jackie Katz; and aunt, Ruth Cronin.

Memorials may be made to Tricounty Family Ministries, 2105 Cosgrove Ave., North Charleston, SC 29405 and Meals on Wheels, 2304 N Hwy 17, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466.
