Dorothy Caroline Bailey Meyer, 88, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 27, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Caroline grew up in downtown Charleston, graduated from Memminger High School, attended the College of Charleston and then met her true love, George Meyer, when he was home on a break from Clemson University. They were married and raised two daughters, Caroline Bailey Meyer of Columbia, and Elizabeth Meyer Puca and her husband August of Charleston. She was the doting grandmother to three grandsons, James McCutchen and his wife Allison of Gilbert, SC, Michael McCutchen and his wife Libby of Marietta, GA and Nicholas Puca of Charleston, SC. She was the loving great grandmother to Jack, Landon, Mia, Cason and Emery McCutchen.

Caroline retired from the SC Employment Security Commission. Through the years she was a frequent volunteer; activities included teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, being a room mother, a Girl Scout leader, volunteer grandmother at Murray Lasaine Elementary School, and a docent at Middleton Gardens. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, the Charleston Hat Ladies, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Ladies Circle #4, the Charleston artist guild, and St. James Anglican Church on James Island. She was a frequent contributing author for the Bishop Gadsden Gab. She enjoyed traveling, researching family genealogy and playing cards.

The family would like to thank the Chaplin and Sharpe families, the members of the Memminger Class of 1950 and the staff at Bishop Gadsden for their many years of love and support.
