Eddie Harold Huett, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, husband of Margaret Eudora Huett reported into eternal rest on 9 July, 2017 at the age of 90. Eddie Harold Huett was born at Moultrieville (Sullivan's Island), SC on 20 December 1926. He was the younger of two children born to Edward Harold Huett and Agnes Reuter Huett.
Mr. Huett graduated from Murray Vocational School in 1946. Eddie H. Huett was a United States Marine, served in the Korean War, and retired from the Marine Corps in 1965 after 20 years of honorable service as a Gunnery Sergeant. Eddie also retired at the Charleston Naval Shipyard as an Instructor for the Joiner Shop. Mr. Huett was a former Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 20, Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church and was a master woodworker. He also provided volunteer services for the Charleston County Library and enjoyed reading. Gunnery Sergeant Eddie Huett was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Harold Huett and Agnes Reuter Huett; his sister; Lorena Kablick; and eldest son, Edward Harold Huett. Gunnery Sergeant Eddie Huett is survived by his wife, Margaret Eduora Huett of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sons: Yale Manford Huett (Karen Huett) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Allen George Huett (Fay Huett) of Jacksonville, NC. Daughter-in-law Nancy Huett of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Four grandchildren: Sandra Marie Burke, Yale Manford Huett, Jr., Elizabeth Ariel Huett, and Ashlen Nicole Van Koevering. Four great-grandchildren: Claire Alexandra Burke, Brandon Charles Burke, Christian Garold Van Koevering and Benjamin Thomas Van Koevering. The family of Gunnery Sergeant Eddie Huett would like to thank the Angels of Mercy: Latosha Simmons, Joyce Frazier, Tracy Squire, Monique Phillips. Diamond Singleton, Geneva Koger, and Palladium Hospice for graciously taking care of Eddie's needs.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
The relatives and friends of Eddie Harold Huett are invited to attend his funeral services at The Church of the Holy Cross, 2520 Middle Street, Sullivan's Island, SC on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, located on 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charleston Animal Society, or the charity of your choice.
