Edward Clifton Browder, Jr., 80, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Carol Browder, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 11, 2021. His funeral service will be held at the graveside Tuesday, December 14, 2021 in Bethany Cemetery, 10 Cunnington Avenue at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Edward was born April 10, 1941 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Edward Clifton Browder, Sr. and Mary Gaines Browder. He worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard during the Cold War as the Group Nuclear Director, proudly serving under President Ronald Reagan. He retired as Planner and Estimator for the Shipyard, after nearly 35 years of service. In his free time he enjoyed camping, restoring antique vehicles, traveling and cruising.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolly; two sons, Edward Clifton Browder III and Stephen Delacie Browder (Kara); three grandchildren, Edward C. Browder IV (Heather), Lucas Browder and Tessa Browder; two great-grandchildren, Wesley Browder and Mackenna Blakeslee and two sisters, Carol Biering and Meridy Jenkins.
