Elizabeth Tarrant Anderson, 30, of Charleston, South Carolina, died peacefully on November 30 from lifelong complications of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. A reception will be held on Sunday, December 3 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at One Country Club Drive, Charleston. A memorial service celebrating Elizabeth's life will be held at First Scots Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting Street, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 4. Burial will be private. Elizabeth requested that joyful colors be worn to her memorial service, reflecting the wonder and richness of life.

Elizabeth is survived by her parents, Thomas Powell Anderson and Ann Harrison Anderson and brother, Thomas Harrison Anderson and his wife, Heyward Boykin Foxworth Anderson. She is also survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Elizabeth was born on October 12, 1987, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and moved to Charleston as an infant. She attended Trident Academy and was a graduate of West Ashley High School's Home Bound Program. She was also an honorary member of the Class of 2006 at Porter Gaud School and was inducted into the Porter Gaud Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008 for her passionate support of the Porter Gaud athletic teams. She also attended classes at Trident Technical College. Elizabeth previously worked as a sales consultant at J. Crew on King Street in Charleston and was a member of First Scots Presbyterian Church. Elizabeth had always enjoyed her interaction with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Elizabeth loved her extended family, friends, children, country music, dogs and everything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with her father. She relished her summers spent in Cedar Mountain, North Carolina, growing up with generations of loving family and friends. Elizabeth also got great satisfaction from directing charitable grants from a Coastal Community Foundation fund named in her honor and benefiting various children's causes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Elizabeth Tarrant Anderson Endowment for Children, c/o Coastal Community Foundation, 635 Rutledge Avenue, Charleston, South Carolina, 29403 or the MUSC Foundation, Elizabeth T. Anderson Memorial Endowment for Pediatrics, 18 Bee Street, MSC 450, Charleston, SC 29425.
