Frances Rivers Hooker Bennett, 94, formerly of Hampton, South Carolina, and widow of the late F. J. Hooker, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 on the Isle of Palms. Her Funeral Service was held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in the Hampton First Baptist Church, 300 Jackson Avenue East, Hampton, SC at 12:00 pm. Interment followed in Hampton Cemetery. The family received friends at the church social hall from 10:30 am until time of the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Frances was born October 11, 1922 in Hampton, South Carolina, daughter of the late Rufus R. Rivers and Lenora Phillips Rivers. She spent most of her life in Hampton County and was a life-long member of Hampton First Baptist Church. After graduating from Hampton High School, her working career began as a bookkeeper at the Ford dealership in Hampton and later as a bookkeeper at Brunson Pontiac-Cadillac dealership in Hampton for a number of years. She became a partner in the operation of Elm Street Auto Parts and retired in her 70's from Elm Street Auto Parts after many years in the business.

Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Jerome Hooker. She is survived by two daughters, Katheryn Hooker Johnson (Gerald) of Isle Of Palms, SC, and June Hooker Bilka (Jimmy) of Hampton, SC; her brother, Leslie Rivers of Hampton, SC; her daughter-in-law, Opal Jean Hooker of Aiken, SC; eight grandchildren, Michelle Hooker Caveness (Bryant) of Kingsport, TN, Craig Hooker (Claudia) of Indian Land, SC, Sarah Hooker Bordon (Brent) of Kingsport, TN, Casandra Johnson Bell (Jimmy) of Gray Court, SC, Carl Johnson of Isle of Palms, SC, LTC Cayton Johnson and LTC Robin Johnson of Ft. Campbell, KY, Tara Buhler Parham (Glen) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Eddie Buhler (Gerri) of Hampton, SC; four step-grandchildren, Beth Bilka Bullard (Brian) of Hardeeville, SC, Jim Bilka (Titi) of Richmond Hill, GA, Paige Bilka Randall (Mark)of Pooler, GA, and Todd Bilka (Amber) of Roanoke, VA. She also leaves behind four loving nieces and a dear nephew. There are 15 great-grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and two step-great-great grandchildren.

Pat Mitchell was a faithful companion and caregiver during the last three years and the family acknowledges her loving care and commitment to always being there for Mrs. Bennett.
