MCPO Gary Frederick Brown, USN Ret., 67, of Bonneau, SC, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, February 24, 2017, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with military honors at 11:00 am in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road.

Gary was born January 9, 1950 in Kellogg, ID, son of the late Ottis Frederick Brown and the late Ona Irene Le Bow Brown. Gary grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was a 1968 graduate of Sandia High School. He was an accomplished musician and played the guitar and piano. He was a lifetime member of Bass Masters and had a passion for trains.

He is survived by his sister, Cyd Ault, and her husband Mike, of Albuquerque, NM; niece, Dr. Jennifer Light, her husband Paul, and their three children of Bryan, TX; longtime companion, Vicki S. Moore of Hanahan, SC; dear friends, Christopher D. Huss and his wife Sandra of North Charleston, SC. He was preceded in death by his sister, Billie Jo Brown and his nephew, Josh McCoy.
