George Buck III, 78, of Daniel Island, South Carolina, husband of Dianne Cooper Buck, went to heaven surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 14, 2022. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Cross, 299 Seven Farms Drive, Daniel Island, with the Rev. H. Gregory West, pastor of Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church presiding, and attended by the immediate family. A celebration of his life will be held in Connecticut for friends and family at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464.

George was born November 5, 1943, in Queens, New York, son of the late George Buck, Jr. and the late Margaret Hurly Buck. He was raised by his beloved grandparents, the late George and Tess Buck. He graduated from St. John's University where he was captain of the bowling team. He began his career at the NY Telephone Company, then started his Information Technology career at IBM, ultimately becoming the owner of his own I.T. company. George was a faithful Catholic, serving as a member of the Parish Council in various parishes. George's love for his family was his greatest, but second was sports. Although he adopted Wilton, Connecticut as his home, he never lost his roots, and was loyal to the NY sports teams, Yankees, Giants and Knicks. He played tennis, platform tennis, softball, baseball, basketball, golf and pickle ball. George was known by all as a good sport and teammate.
When signs of dementia began, he participated in a clinical trial for the Alzheimer's disease drug, Aducanumab. This drug was recently passed by the FDA, and is available to the general public. It helped George and will now help people around the world.

As his family has observed over the years, George was the ultimate gentleman and gentle man.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dianne Buck of Daniel Island; children, Christian Buck (Gail) of Daniel Island, Corey Buck (Susan) of Fairfield, CT, George Buck IV of Norwalk, CT; his grandchildren, Connor, Aidan, Kieran, Megan, Drew, Caroline, and Jack.

Memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association, or National Parkinson's Foundation,
