Iris Coraleene Mathis McDaniel, 84, of Hanahan, South Carolina, wife of Charles William "Bill" McDaniel, Sr. died Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Holmes Avenue Baptist Church, 4602 Durant Avenue at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Rd.
Coraleene was born August 13, 1932 in Douglas, Georgia, daughter of the late Edward Mathis and the late Alda Walker Mathis. She served as a member and as the church secretary at Holmes Avenue Baptist Church for many years.
In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Spagnolia (John); son, Charles William McDaniel, Jr. (Linda); grandchildren, Cheri Mateo (Angel), Christi Marvel (Bryan), Joseph Spagnolia (Tanecia) and Jason Spagnolia (Alli), and Chase McDaniel and Katie Osepchook (AJ); seven great grandchildren, Dylan, Abby, Grayce, Ella, Alex, Tucker, Claire, and another on the way; and her sister-in-law, Virginia Mathis.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Leigh McDaniel; and her brother, Pat Mathis.
Memorials may be made to Holmes Avenue Baptist Church, 4602 Durant Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405.
