John Corbett Mizzell, 67, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Marie Howard Mizzell entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 13, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery with Masonic Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Downtown Chapel.

John was born December 3, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Preston Hugh Mizzell and Helen Poupalos Mizzell. He earned his Bachelor's Degree of Electrical Engineering from The Citadel, Class of 1971, and he was the owner of Able Electrical Construction Company. John was the Past Master of Fidelity Lodge #304 AFM, Johns Island. He loved fishing, hunting, music, and especially his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marie of Charleston; son, John Corbett Mizzell II of James Island; daughter, Jennifer Mizzell Crosby (Shane) of James Island; brother, Steve S. Mizzell (Lynn) of James Island; sister-in-law, Bonnie Mizzell; and eight grandchildren: Sara, Corbett, Anna-Marie, Margaret, Cole, Autumn, Victoria, and Trevor.He was predeceased by his daughter Margaret "Peggy" Mizzell Inabinett and two brothers: Preston Mizzell and Mark Walter Mizzell.
