John Dale Cook, 87, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of the late Betty Moore Cook entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 2, 2022. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 2:30 pm. Entombment with military honors will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd. The family will receive friends Friday, March 4, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Jack was born May 1, 1934 in Spencer, Iowa, son of the late Dale J. Cook and the late Nellie Kabrick Cook. He was a USAF veteran and survival instructor. He lived a full life in the Lowcountry as the past president of Dale J. Cook Moving & Storage, a member of Omar Shrine and the past Master of Etiwan Masonic Lodge. He was known for his community service, helping transport children and families to Shriner's hospitals. Jack will be remembered as someone who enjoyed sailing, crafts, macrame and cross stitch, but mostly for the way he loved his family.
He is survived by his children; Anthony "Tony" P. Cook of Charleston, Michael "Landy" L. Cook, of Summerville, Sharon White Gilbert of Sullivans Island, Deborah Kaye White of Florence, and Melisa White Gay, Angela White, and Dr. Edward White all of Mt. Pleasant; 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Moore Cook; son, Dale J. Cook, and sister, Peggy Glover.
