Linda passed away unexpectedly on September 10th, 2020 in Charleston South Carolina. Linda was born on April 2nd, 1945 in Kirksville MO to Avon Edward and Ava Louise Thurber. She graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in Nursing. On June 5th 1971 she married William J Mitterer. On September 10th and November 9th respectively they welcomed their daughters Karen and Lauren.

Linda enjoyed the culinary arts, mostly exhibited through her vast collection of cookbooks. She was an integral partner in the creation of WildFlour Pastry, and continued after its conception as Chief Quality Control Inspector. Her extensive knowledge and creative spirit were an inspiration to the company.

Linda is survived by her loving husband William and their daughter Lauren. She is predeceased by her parents, and her daughter Karen.

Linda was a devoted mother and wife, however her most beloved role was that of grandma to Keira Elyse Hutchison. She used her warm nurturing spirit on a daily basis to help raise Keira, and could often be found with a gummy bear treat for her special little girl. Linda's fiercely strong independence and determination are shown daily in Keira's spirt; An eternal gift to us all.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

Linda will be laid to rest in the Memorial Garden at Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest Il alongside her daughter Karen at a future date.
