Merle Riley Prince, 90, of Charleston, SC, widow of the late Markley "Mark" Lawrence Prince, III, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Her Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC 29414. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
Merle was born November 23, 1930 in Sylacuaga, AL, a daughter of the late Loris Eugene Riley and Sallie Burkhalter Riley. Merle was a long-time member of The Church of the Good Shepherd, where she was involved in many ministries. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many.
She is survived by her children, Donna Latham (Bill), Elaine Reed (Ken), Timothy Prince and Richard Prince (Angel); her fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Daisy Prince Walsh.
She was predeceased by a son, Mark Lawrence Prince IV; one grandson, one great-grandson; two brothers and two sisters.
