Myrtle M. Myrick, of Summerville, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the age of 91. Her graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 2609 Highway 29 North, Anderson SC on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 12:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Myrtle was born November 13, 1929 in Greeleyville, SC, daughter of the late Oliver and Ethel Mitchum and widow of Albert R. Myrick. She graduated from North Charleston High School in 1946. She was a loving mom and a longtime member of North Anderson Baptist Church in Anderson, SC. She was recognized for her work in the Sunday School Program. Her most loved activities were cooking for family, sewing and gardening. Since 2007, Myrtle has resided at the Presbyterian Village of Summerville, SC. She was active in the community and made many special friends. She especially enjoyed trips to Montreat and participating in Senior Olympics. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Charleston.

Myrtle is survived by her four children: Rusty (Judy), Ronnie, Elaine and Virginia Smith (Findley). Her grandchildren are Josh and Jared (Allie) Smith and Adam Myrick (Julie) and Susan Myrick Hendrix (Greg). Myrtle recently welcomed her fifth great-grandchild, Bennett James Smith, affectionately known to her as "Bennie Baby."

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years and five siblings: Inez, Edward, Nora Lee, Clyde and Durant.
