Ronald Leon Franklin, Jr., 58, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Joy Elaine McDonald Franklin died Sunday, May 20, 2018. His memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Wednesday in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 10:00 am until time of the service.

Ron was born May 17, 1960 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, son of Ronald Leon Franklin, Sr. and Dorothy Ravan Franklin. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He was Director of Technical Sales for Gobain Corporation. He was also instrumental in developing and implementing life saving measures at work. Ron was not only a manager but was a mentor for people providing support and encouragement. He loved to work on cars and surf and was also a former little league baseball, soccer and softball coach. Ron was a member of The Church at Life Park where he was a member of Bible Study. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Joy M. Franklin of Mount Pleasant, SC; daughter, Summer Franklin of Mount Pleasant, SC; son, Ronald L. Franklin, III of Mount Pleasant, SC; parents Ron and Dorothy Franklin of Mauldin, SC; sister, Elizabeth Freeman (Ben) of Greer, SC; and brother, Jeff Franklin of Lexington, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
