Wade Thomas "Tommy" Roof, Jr., 65, of John's Island, SC, husband of 41 years to Dani Blackburn Roof, went home to be with the Lord on November 2, 2020.
Tommy was born in West Columbia, SC to Wade Thomas "Tom" and June Frick Roof on February 7, 1955. Tommy graduated from Airport High School ('73), lettering in basketball while there. Tommy went on to attend Newberry College and University South Carolina, after which he owned his own company, Central Supply.

Tommy was an avid sports fan, and coached Dixie Youth Baseball, along with many other high school fall baseball teams, for many years. Even though he won many championships along the way, Tommy's greatest accomplishment was how he influenced and touched the lives of so many of his players. Pineview Dixie Youth Baseball Complex was his family's second home for many years, and all who played for him will always remember "Coach T."
Tommy loved the outdoors, especially being on the water fishing, shrimping, and boating whenever he could. Passing the time cutting the grass and picking up sticks were some of his favorite "times with God" each weekend. But nothing surpassed the joy that his family gave him as he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren - "T's Preschool" was always open.

Tommy is survived by his wife Dani, his children, Wade (Irina) Roof of Lexington, Hampton Roof of Asheville, Anna (Jonathan) Harrelson of John's Island, sister Marie (Johnny) Lewis of West Columbia, parents Tom and June Roof, and three Grandchildren: Abby Grace Roof, Blackburn Roof, and Landon Harrelson.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 7 at 11:00am at Mt Tabor Lutheran Church at 1000 B Ave. West Columbia, SC 29169 in the outside courtyard behind the sanctuary.

Funeral services will be held in the sanctuary at 1:00 pm following visitation at Mt Tabor Lutheran Church with Pastor Ryan Lyles and Pastor Megan Lineberger of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Charleston officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date. Memorials can be made to Mt Tabor Lutheran Church in West Columbia, The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Charleston, or the Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC.
