Winston Ray Postell Sr, 90, of Ravenel, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday February 14,2022. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday February 17,2022 at Sauldam Baptist Church, 5945 County Line Road at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at White Church Cemetery in Ravenel. The Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Arrangements by J Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
Winston was born June 13,1931 in Charleston ,South Carolina, son of the late Thomas (Tom) Postell and Nina Strickland Postell. He was a Retired City Of Charleston Police Officer. He was in the Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sauldam Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He enjoyed watching old western shows. He had a heart of gold, always wanting to help others.
He is survived by his son, Winston Ray Postell Jr (Pamela) of Charleston; brothers, Wilson "Will" Postell of Florence, and David Postell (Debbie) of Ravenel; Sisters, Nell Platt (Gerald), and Barbara Crosby both of Ravenel; Brother-in-law, Bruce Platt of Charleston; Sister-in-law, Cherly Mae Ellis (Bruce) of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and his Special Care Givers, his nieces Dianne Reynolds and Kathy Waters. He is also survived by his puppy, "Baby Boy," that gave him much love and laughter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded In Death by his wife, Virginia Maxine Postell; and Brothers, Tommy Postell, Clyde Postell, Bert Postell, Gerald Postell, Bill Postell, and Eddie Postell.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Sprenger Health Care Of Port Royal for their care and compassion during his stay there.
